Henry J. Goeckel Grand Council Scholarship Key Award

Awarded annually to brothers who graduate with First Honors or who stand first in their graduating class, following certification by the dean of the college or school of pharmacy. The key and accompanying scholarship certificate are funded by the Grand Council.

Recognizes outstanding scholastic achievement for brothers in their 2nd or 3rd professional (didactic) year. Based on GPA attained during the academic year. Issued by the Central Office following request from the chapter's Grand Council Deputy.

Eligibility details: Brother must be in the professional pharmacy curriculum during didactic work (excluding APPE rotation year), attain a minimum 3.0 GPA (or equivalent B average), and be an active member in good standing. For non-traditional grading systems, a faculty recommendation is required.

Awarded to the collegiate chapter with the highest percentage of eligible members receiving Scholarship Honors Certificates in the academic year.

Nicholas W. Fenney Industry Scholarship Award

Awarded annually to the collegiate chapter showing the greatest percentage improvement in scholastic achievement over the prior academic year, as determined by the Chapter Awards Committee and approved by the Executive Committee.

Brotherhood Awards
Asklepios Key
Est. 1946  ·  ~$295 (US)

A special award presented by a chapter to its members for outstanding achievements. Recommended primarily for excellence in scholarship, though chapters may establish their own selection standards. The key is available from the Central Office or the online Kappa Psi Shop.

F. Harvey Smith Grand Regent's Letter of Recognition

Recognizes distinctive service and/or dedication by a brother. May be requested by any member, chapter, or province and is awarded at the expense of the Grand Council.

W. Bruce Phillip Certificate of Commendation

More prestigious than the Letter of Recognition. Recognizes important or conspicuous service or achievement in the interest of the Fraternity or Profession. Issued at the discretion of the Grand Regent and funded by the Grand Council.

A. Richard Bliss Grand Council Citation of Appreciation

The highest form of fraternity recognition — for most extraordinary contributions to the Fraternity or Profession by members or non-members. Issued only at the discretion of the Executive Committee and funded by the Grand Council.

Presented to the collegiate brother who has contributed the most to Kappa Psi. Each collegiate chapter may nominate one member. The award includes a plaque and $250 monetary award funded through the Frank H. Eby Endowment Fund.

Deadline: Nomination and supporting data must arrive at the Central Office at least 90 days prior to the Grand Council Convention. The specific deadline is included in the GCC Packet.

Chapter & Member Awards
Collegiate Chapter Operations Form
Required of ALL collegiate chapters

Represents the minimum standards expected of all collegiate chapters. Use this form as a tool to align to fraternity minimums and to seek guidance from your GCD, Province officers, and National officers if your chapter does not meet them.

The Regent or a designated brother may complete the form. Once submitted, if any responses were not "Yes," meet with your GCD to develop an improvement plan. This is a resource — not intended to reprimand chapters.

Top Performing Chapters (Pinnacle Awards)

Recognizes chapters who go above and beyond minimum standards. For consideration, the "Pinnacle Award" section of the Chapter Operations Report Form must be completed. Chapters are not expected to have completed every item in this section.

Industry Award for Exceptional Member Recognition

Awarded to individual members for outstanding work within the profession of pharmacy. Nominations for multiple members in a chapter are accepted but must be submitted separately.

Each submission should include 1–3 examples in paragraph form detailing the nominee's outstanding work and how it aligns with Kappa Psi values. Minimum 200 words, maximum 1,000 words.

Sobriety Award for Advocacy

Awarded to a collegiate chapter for efforts to advance, promote, and advocate for the pharmacy profession. Submissions must highlight the chapter's initiatives and demonstrate commitment to Kappa Psi's mission. Images, statistics, and charts may be included.

Fellowship Award for New Member Recruitment

Awarded to a collegiate chapter with innovative new member recruitment strategies. Submissions may be based on a single event or the entire recruitment season, and should detail background, objectives, measurable outcomes, and reflections.

High Ideals Award for Chapter Excellence in Leadership

Awarded to a collegiate chapter whose actions or activities demonstrate or promote leadership at their school or college of pharmacy. Submissions should highlight collective chapter effort, unified approach, and broader community impact.

Graduate Chapters submit a "Graduate Chapter Checklist" online annually. Based on responses, chapters are eligible for the following awards:

Distinction Certificates
70-year membership
F. Harvey Smith Order of the Platinum Mortar
Restricted to brothers who have been members of the Fraternity for 70 or more years. Certificate issued by the Central Office upon request, at the expense of the Grand Council.
60-year membership
Dewey D. Garner Order of the Diamond Mortar
Restricted to brothers who have been members of the Fraternity for 60 or more years. Certificate issued by the Central Office upon request, at the expense of the Grand Council.
50-year membership
Preston W. Eldridge, Jr. Order of the Golden Mortar
Restricted to brothers who have been members of the Fraternity for 50 or more years. Certificate issued by the Central Office upon request, at the expense of the Grand Council.
40-year membership
Robert A. Magarian Order of the Silver Mortar
Restricted to brothers who have been members of the Fraternity for 40 or more years. Certificate issued by the Central Office upon request, at the expense of the Grand Council.
25-year membership
F. Harvey Smith Order of the Ruby Mortar
Restricted to brothers who have been members of the Fraternity for 25 or more years. Certificate issued by the Central Office upon request, at the expense of the Grand Council.
Non-member
Service Order Certificate and Emblem
For non-members elected by any collegiate or graduate chapter using their own established qualifications. Certificate and jewelry emblem at the expense of the chapter.
