The Risk Management Process
1
Identification of Exposure to Loss
Recognize all potential risks and scenarios that could result in harm to members, non-members, or the Fraternity.
2
Analysis or Evaluation of Exposure to Loss
Assess the likelihood and severity of each identified risk to understand its potential impact.
3
Elimination, Avoidance, or Reduction of Exposure
Take concrete steps to remove or reduce identified risks before an event or activity takes place.
4
Reanalysis of Reduced Exposure to Loss
After mitigation measures are in place, reassess remaining risks to confirm they are at an acceptable level.
5
Assumption or Transfer of Exposures
Decide whether remaining risk is accepted by the chapter or transferred (e.g., via insurance or contractual agreements).
6
Monitoring of Results & Adjustments
Continually review outcomes and refine procedures — risk management is an ongoing, dynamic process, not a one-time task.
