Society 1879
The Brothers of Kappa Psi have historically contributed to our beloved fraternity in a myriad of ways. In an effort to recognize those Brothers who have shown generous voluntary financial contributions in support of the Brotherhood over the years, a unique “membership” of the Brotherhood was established. In 2019 at the 59th GCC in Washington, DC., 25 Brothers who had contributed $1,879 or more in voluntary graduate dues to to the Fraternity were recognized as the Founding Members and were bestowed all rights and privileges of what we now call Society 1879.
Criteria/Eligibility
Eligibility for Society 1879 are based on two key criteria:
A Brother seeking eligibility for Society 1879 must be a dues paying member of Kappa Psi and must be recognized as Brother in Good Standing per the Central Office and as outlined in the Constitution.
A Brother must have paid $1,879 or more in “Voluntary Graduate Dues” to the fraternity. Brothers who have paid this amount by Dec. 31st as recorded by Central Office, will be considered for eligibility for induction into the following year’s class of Society 1879, pending confirmation of Criteria 1.
Note: Once a Brother has been inducted into Society 1879, they can continue to remain an active member provided that pay their Voluntary Graduate Dues at a minimum level of $99 annually. If they wish to no longer remain an active member, they be considered inactive the following year of dues no longer having been paid.
