Brother Dr. Anthony Palmieri III was initiated at the University Rhode Island into the Beta Epsilon Chapter, where he earned his B.S. and M.S. in Pharmacy. He graduated from the University of Georgia with a Ph.D in Pharmaceutics. Currently, he is a faculty member in the Department of pharmaceutics at the University of Florida College of Pharmacy. He also taught at The University of Wyoming and Creighton University. Dr. Palmieri is also a member of Rho Chi. He has written numerous publications on intellectual property, pharmaceutics, dosage forms, dissolution, pharmacy education, and pharmacy history.
Brother Palmieri served as the Editor of The MASK from 1980 to 1995. In 1994, he was named Editor of The MASK Emeritus. Dr. Palmieri was elected Grand Historian at the 49th Grand Council Convention in 1999 and Grand Vice Regent in 2001. In 2003, he was elected as Grand Regent at the 51st Grand Council Convention in San Diego. He was presented the A. Richard Bliss, Jr. Award for his sustained contributions to the profession of pharmacy in 2012.
In addition to his Kappa Psi activities, Dr. Palmieri served on the executive committee for the College Fraternity Editors Association. He was also a Councilor for the American Institute for the History Pharmacy and served as President for the Academy of Pharmaceutical Research and Sciences.
